Jawariya Zafar, a member of the National Assembly from the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has accused her husband of deliberately firing on her at Parliament Lodges in the red zone of the federal capital Islamabad, but instead of hitting her from the wall It started.

 

Jawariya Zafar has also filed a petition with the police against the incident on the basis of which a case has been registered against her husband. It may be recalled that Jawariya Zafar is also the Parliamentary Secretary for Overseas Pakistanis. The SHO Women's Police Station told the BBC that the accused had been arrested after the case was registered and further investigation was underway. According to the police spokesperson, the accused was produced before the relevant court for remand and his physical remand was requested. However, the court rejected the request and sent the accused to jail on a 14-day judicial remand.

How did the incident happen?

According to the FIR registered at the Women Police Station Islamabad, Jawariya Zafar stated in her application that she has been married to her husband for the last six months. According to the FIR, she had a fight with her husband on Tuesday and during this bitter argument she informed her husband that she would go to court to file a divorce suit. According to the FIR, her husband became enraged and allegedly threatened to kill his wife and shot her with a pistol aimed at her during the altercation.

In his petition, Jawariya Zafar alleged that he barely escaped with his life and that a pistol bullet hit the wall. She also claimed in the FIR that her husband had forcibly married her.

According to the local police, the FIR in this case has been registered under section 324 of the Pakistan Penal Code, which deals with intentional homicide and if the charge is proved in the court, the punishment for this crime can be up to 10 years imprisonment.

When contacted by the BBC, MNA Jawariya Zafar said that she had stated her full position in this regard in the FIR and could not comment further on the matter.
