I'll be looking at the all new Kindle 10th generation which was released in 2019 while this is Amazon’s least expensive reader it does bring quite a few new features that set it apart from the model it replaced now just to give you some perspective on different Kindle options available Amazon currently has three differenteReader devices on sale this all-new Kindle which is the budget-friend option the Kindle paper white which is ithe middle of the pack and of courtship premium option the Kindle Oasis obviously the theme being the more money you spend the more options and refinement you get however if you ‘relooking at this all-new Kindle you’re probably wondering is it even worth the money or is it just better to put in the

 (Kindle - With a Built-in Front Light extra money and get the Kindlepaperwhite instead in this video I’ll try and answer that question and also share my experience using and traveling the last four months on the outside the all-new Kindle looks like almost any it has a relatively thick bezel on three sides of its six inch display with a larger strip on the bottom the bezel does seem to be a bit thinner than on the paper white the displays also set slightly lower than the bezel so it isn't flush like the paper whites display more about the screen in a second there is only one button on the entire device and that is the power button on the bottom edge there's also a microUSB charging port right next to it the rare surface has a matte mildly textured finish and is made of plastic the Kindle is currently available in two colors black and white the texturing and its relatively thin profile make it easy enough to hold with one hand even without a protective case installed your grip is also helped by the fact that it weighs a paltry 174 grams and that's exactly 20 grams lighter than an iPhone 11 which is remarkable for a device this size I do however recommend using a case on this Kindle while it's tempting to just chuck it in your bag and go there's a good chance things in your bag like keys will end up scratching that e-ink display which is the most important part of this reader if you absolutely want to skip the case

I would wreck and at least installing a screen protector on the device I'll leave links to cases and screen protectors I recommend right below the video the all new Kindle isn't waterproof and like the paper white so if you're looking to do a lot of reading in or near a pool or bathtub or by the beach it might make sense to invest in the Kindle paper white instead Amazon currently sells two different versions of this Kindle one with special offers and a version without it if you do opt for the less expensive version with the quote-unquote special offers what you'll see when you wake the device from its sleep mode using the power button are these Amazon ads on the lock screen I frankly don’t find these very annoying or intrusive so

I really recommend just saving a little cash by getting the version with the special offers now another thing to note most cases with flip LEDs will also wake the device out of sleep mode when opened once brought to life you can swipe up from the bottom edge to unlock the device this either brings you to the Kindle Store homepage or the page you last read in a book the resolution on the six inch e-ink display isn't as high as the paper white or Oasis but it's perfectly crisp and more than sufficient to read any book no matter what font you choose or what size of text you prefer the text is crisper than printed books and can be read comfortably from almost any viewing angle this Kindle also carries an extremely important feature that previous budget Kindles never had a backlight this is absolutely fantastic for reading in the dark or reading out in the bright sunlight the backlight can a maximum of 24 I usually set mine at around 9 which allows me to read both outdoors and in a dark room now this Kindle has 4 gigabytes of built-in memory which allows you to store several thousand books and that's always been the allure of Kindle devices being able to take and read several thousand books wherever you go without having to physically carry those books around

books can be purchased from Amazon's store on the home page of your device Instill find this interface a bit clunky and sluggish so I usually browse for books on Amazon's website or app by the book and it just magically gets delivered to my Kindle the all new Kindle connects to Amazon store through Wi-Fi there is no cellular option available on this device however once you buy a book and send it to the Kindle it downloads it to the device when you're connected to Wi-Fi so you can read the book anywhere even when you're not connected to Wi-Fi in addition to just buying and reading the e-book Amazon also has the audible audio book version available for most books and since the Kindle is equipped with Bluetooth you can connect a pair of Bluetooth headphones and listen to the audio book and if you purchased both the audio book and eBook you can switch between the two almost seamlessly probably the Kindles most impressive feature is its insanely long battery life on a full charge the Kindle can last as long as several weeks before needing a recharge yes you heard that right several weeks in the last four months that I've been using it I've barely charged at three times and each time I did charge it it still had some power left in it this really does add to the convenience of just being able to carry charging it regularly so should you buy the all-new Kindle well if you're looking for a simple inexpensive reader with weeks of battery life that just works reliably each time you really can’t go wrong with the all-new Kindle however if you need a waterproof eReaderthat's a little more refined then I'd recommend investing the extra money and getting a Kindle paperwhite instead and as for the Kindle Oasis I honestly don't just have to get the most refined feature-packed eReader out there I'll leave links to all three Kindles and theaccessories
